Our Professional Values - A Matter of Trust

  • We respect the privacy of our clients and run our practices with the utmost discretion. Your dealings with us, are always professional, and, of course, confidential. You can expect that your therapist will be the only person who will listen to any confidential voice mail messages you leave.
  • We believe you are the expert on your life. Your therapist will work with you as a partner in your healing process. We will empower you, not take away your power. We will take the time to get to know you and help you find the type of therapy that will work best for you.
  • We are attuned to the important role of spirituality in recovery and personal growth, and will honor your spiritual beliefs without imposing any particular viewpoint on you.
  • We will avoid fault-finding, labeling, criticizing or blaming, and instead focus on the context in which problems evolve.
  • We value intuition, which we believe is an instinctive way of knowing and understanding the world. We will help you discover and fine tune your own intuitive skills, as well as help you be more conscious and emotionally aware.

Atmosphere - A Relaxed and Professional Environment

North Suburban Counseling strives to create a relaxed and professional environment. We believe this is an important element of therapeutic success. Because the comfort level of our clients is a high priority, we treat all our clients with the utmost respect and strive to make our offices comfortable, safe and welcoming. We believe you will notice this the minute you meet with your therapist.

While each therapist at North Suburban Counseling has their own personal style, we all actively engage in the process of therapy. You will have an active listener to help you address the life issues you are experiencing. We will provide feedback to help you sort through any difficulties you are experiencing. We believe an important part of therapy is helping you develop goals that address your individual needs and lead to resolution of the issues that first brought you to seek therapy.
