As a licensed professional clinical social worker, Jim provides counseling for individual adults, couples, families, children (10-12) and adolescents. His approach is a creative strength based solution focused approach to problem resolution. He also utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and is certified in the utilization of Rational Hypnotherapy by the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists.
Jim has many years of experience in working with a wide range of problem areas such as mood swings, depression, anxiety, anger, marital issues, parenting, adolescent issues, school adjustment problems, geriatric issues and grief experiences. Clients frequently share that Jim’s approach is non-threatening which results in a feeling of ease and comfort. His years of experience often provides valuable insights and support as he helps clients improve their functioning in areas that they want to work upon.
He obtained his graduate degree from The School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in 1969 and his undergraduate degree from Ohio Northern University. He has also completed postgraduate training in short term brief therapies at The Ohio State University.
Jim has appointment availability during the day, evenings and on Saturdays for the convenience of his clients.
